David Flowers Every song on this album is fantastic. It’s so intense and dark and it grooves so heavy. The lyrics deal with loss, and the record is a powerful catharsis for all who are hurting and grieving.

Easily in my top five albums of all time. A masterpiece and a treasure.
Favorite track: Last Rights (There Is No Sky).

JimmyKing This album is a masterpiece. Deep sadness on the edge of anger are what you receive on the vocals, backed by well made post 80s metal. The contrast between the sadness behind the mean opening tracks that only a stack of stereo equipment with full range speakers on an old school equalizer could do justice. Top it off with punk shouts and groove goth sounding tracks to keep you back for more. Tell the truth not one track feels out of place for the range of music played Favorite track: Last Rights (There Is No Sky).

metaltyger This was my entry point into Undercover, and remains my favorite album by them to this day. The remaster sounds incredible. Great emotional delivery, with raw rock edge all throughout, from the opening tracks all the way through. Favorite track: Mea Culpa / Remember Me.

djzachlorton Balance of Power continued Undercover's metamorphosis that began on Branded, and continued throughout the '90s. I don't know that any other alternative record was able to fit as much passion into their work as Undercover did on BOP. It was my first Undercover purchase, and began my appreciation for a band who, in their prime, wasn't appreciated nearly as much as they should have been. Favorite track: The Eyes Of Love.

I love this album because it's about the place where I did most of my growing up in Southern California and songs like Homeboys truly resonated with me - I can close my eyes and when Gene sings about a football game, "light post to light post" and "talking about each other's sisters under the street light" I'm transported to the summer of 1984 and playing ball with Richie as the sun sets, wondering if Kevin's sister might like me, and the sound of my mother's voice calling me in for the night. oldkookskater
